Eric Huggins is a professor of management in the School of Business Administration at Fort Lewis College. He joined the college in 2002. Previously, Dr. Huggins was an instructor of mathematics at Hawaii Pacific University. Outside of Fort Lewis, he is a frequent reviewer of various journals, including Interfaces, Manufacturing and Service Operations Management Society, and INFORMS Transactions on Education. He conducts research in the areas of operations management and business analytics and has published articles in both Management Science and Operations Research. Dr. Huggins oversees Fort Lewis students doing project management and data analysis projects for companies in the Durango area.
Dr. Huggins was nominated for the Fort Lewis Alice Admire Teaching Award (2013). He is active in the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), the largest society in the world for professionals in the field of operations research, and was the chair of the Teaching Effectiveness Colloquium for the 2014 conference.
