Kaori Takano was born in Fukuoka Japan. After she earned her Bachelor's degree, she held a unique position with Coca-Cola for nine years, closely working with top executives and PR managers. She came to the USA in 1997 and earned her M.B.A. in 2000 when Kaori and her family moved to Cancun, Mexico, and started working as a sales associate in the hotel zone while she worked as the editor for several anthropological books published in Mexico. After she returned to the USA, she earned her Ph.D. in 2011 and moved to Durango, Colorado, to teach at Fort Lewis College. She enthusiastically teaches important social contexts surrounding cultural and business environments in the world, using current topics and her personal experiences.
Kaori's research interests include corporate social responsibility, organizational behavior, public policy, school-business partnerships, corporate communication, and cross-cultural management. She published her research topics in Social Responsibility Journal, Public Relations Review, and The International Institute for Asian Studies.
She loves traveling abroad, and she has visited more than 25 countries. Her teenage son, who speaks Japanese and English, completed the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic Tour with very competitive times for the past several years.
