FLC School of Business Administration earns prestigious reaccreditation
The Fort Lewis College School of Business Administration has retained its prestigious business education accreditation with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, or AACSB International. Accredited for another five years, SOBA is among only 5% of business schools in the world with AACSB accreditation.
For more than a century, AACSB accreditation has been synonymous with the highest standards in business education.
“Everyone in the School of Business Administration is proud to have had our AACSB accreditation extended for another five years,” says SOBA Dean Steve Elias. “AACSB is the gold standard when it comes to business school accreditation, so we believe this accomplishment affirms the quality of our programs, students, faculty, staff, and community engagements. We have been continuously accredited by AACSB since 1974 and look forward to maintaining our accreditation well into the future.”
“AACSB congratulates each institution on their achievement,” said Stephanie M. Bryant, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB, in an AACSB press release. “Every AACSB-accredited school has demonstrated a focus on excellence in all areas, including teaching, research, curricula development, and student learning. The intense peer-review process exemplifies their commitment to quality business education.”
Achieving accreditation is a rigorous multiyear process of developing and implementing a plan to align with AACSB’s accreditation standards. These standards require excellence in areas relating to strategic management and innovation; student, faculty, and staff as active participants; learning and teaching; and academic and professional engagement. Once accreditation is achieved, each institution participates in a five-year continuous improvement peer review to maintain high quality and extend its accreditation.
