Skyhawk Station is the new one-stop-shop for students’ needs

Navigating the technical side of student life just got easier on the Fort Lewis College campus.

Driven by the College’s new Strategic Plan’s mandate to put “students at the center,” Skyhawk Station, formerly Miller Student Services (which itself was built in 1957 as FLC’s first student center on the Durango campus), features cross-trained staff who can help answer most questions and brings together several offices key to the business of being a student:

Services found in Skyhawk Station are:

•    Financial Aid Office
•    Health Center
•    Registrar’s Office
•    SkyCard Office
•    Student Billing & Cashiering
•    Student Housing & Conference Services
•    Student Success & Advising (starting Fall 2020)

“Skyhawk Station is a centralized student services hub where students can easily access the information and services they need to support their academic success and timely graduation,” says Registrar Theresa Rodriguez. “We’re striving to improve the overall student experience by addressing the majority of student services needs in one place, reducing or eliminating the need for students to run around campus from one office to the next.”

Business that students can take care of at Skyhawk Station include:

•    pay a bill
•    get their SkyCard
•    pick up parking permits
•    add, drop, or withdraw from classes
•    submit financial aid paperwork
•    get help with registration
•    complete graduation requirements
•    resolve academic-standing issues

Skyhawk Station is open 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, with four computer kiosks and printers, and four dedicated parking spots reserved for Skyhawk Station visitors.
