Tribal Water Media Fellows explore how a Denver's college work to bring water to her hometown in Tanzania, and how a mountain man became a beaver man.

Tribal Water Media Fellows August Mrakuzic (Anthropology, '23)and Klara Goldman (Geology, 23) have published their work on KSUT. Mrakuzic story focuses on a Denver college student who brought water and aid to her home village in Tanzania. Goldman’s story explores how a Colorado mountain man became a beaver believer. The fellowship is a collaboration between KSUT Public Radio, Fort Lewis College, and Rocky Mountain PBS. The Walton Family Foundation supports the project.

This is the second time Philosophy Professor Justin McBrayer receives an award from the prestigious Fulbright Program

McBrayer said the award will allow him to continue exploring the issue of misinformation and fake news. Specifically, he will explore a range of steps liberal societies may justifiably take to limit the production and spread of fake news, encourage the production and spread of genuine news, and insulate political and social life from the harms of fake news that cannot be suppressed.

“With a 27-year tenure of service to our College, Steve has the historical wisdom, financial acuity, political networks, and hard-earned trust of the Skyhawk community,” said Mary Rubadeau, chair of the FLC Board of Trustees, in an email to campus. “Steve will build upon our momentum as we launch the search for a permanent president.”
