Julie (she, her, hers) currently works at Facebook where she leads Community Escalations, a global team that manages high-profile, challenging issues facing users, the company, and the public. Previously, Julie served as State Director for U.S. Senator Michael Bennet, leading his work in Colorado to close opportunity gaps, build strong constituent services, and create coalitions to tackle complex problems. Julie has also held various positions in the private sector, including the financial and energy industries, focusing on investor relations, corporate social/environmental responsibility, and public affairs.
Having lived in southwest Colorado for many years, Julie led various community development projects to support family access to stable housing and world-class education. In 2009, Julie was elected to the first of two terms with the Durango 9-R Board of Education. She has been active with various non-profit boards and organizations in the Rockies, primarily related to outdoor access, STEM education, and sustainability.
Julie received her Master of Arts in Politics and Public Policy from the University of Colorado at Denver and her Bachelor of Arts from Fort Lewis College in Political Science. Julie, her husband Trey, and their son currently live in Denver.
Julie's term expires January 1, 2024.
