Earn a Liberal Arts Core Certificate

An LAC Certificate is a 12-15 credit degree credential you can earn while fulfilling your Liberal Arts Core requirements. Focus your Liberal Arts Core experience on a theme that matters to you and learn about it from multiple perspectives. LAC Certificates make the connections across disciplines clear and packages them into a credential that speaks to future employers.

LAC Lenses pair two LAC courses from different content areas, creating a cohort and a new “lens” on learning. 

Students will explore connections between disciplines and engage with their peers and professors in new ways of learning. Past pairings have included Introduction to Political Science and Media Literacy, Conservation Biology and Introduction to Environmental Studies, Women’s Literature and Introduction to Gender and Sexuality Studies, Native American Literature and Contemporary Issues of Native Nations, and more!

Let your curiosity guide you. Choosing LAC course electives that are different from your major helps you build new skills and perspectives. For example, our minds expand when we can study the physical world in a lab and examine our place in the universe through literature!
