Recognize a colleague with a Fli-Hi Award

Want to show your appreciation for a fellow employee’s hard work? The Fli-Hi Award is a simple way to give them the recognition they deserve. Just follow these three steps:

  1. Fill out the online submission form
  2. We send a copy to you, the recipient, the recipient's supervisor, and put in the employee’s files

Kudos to Brendan for all his hard work for the Katz School this fall—especially for always being willing to learn on the fly, keep us organized through a very busy semester, and support our faculty, staff, and students with positivity.

Big thanks to Carl and the grounds crew for all the snow removal effort that has been put in.  Also, for keeping that back hill open through this construction and snow.  It is so appreciated!

David recently accepted the invitation to Co-Chair the TIPA committee for Faculty Development Grants. David has been a positive, diligent, and thoughtful leader of the committee.  He is an advocate for faculty and supports their projects enthusiastically.  He is also a pleasure to work with.

Greg is the heart of the Admission Office, always willing to go the extra mile, stops whatever he is doing to support Ambassadors and guests.

Greg is the backbone of the Admission Office. He provides support to every part of the office while making sure that anyone who walks through the door feels welcome. He has been steadfast in his group visits by coordinating and providing incoming students with the information needed to apply to FLC. I know that I can always go to Greg for anything and if he doesn't have an answer, he will find a solution or connect me with the person who will have an answer. He exceeds his role and deserves the recognition for his hard work and perseverance.

Gustie has been so helpful in making sure we had all the graduate students taken care of for commencement and graduation. Even though some applied late, it put more pressure on her, but she performed her job efficiently and without interruption. I'm thankful that she is so student-centered in getting students over the finish line!

Jaden oversees two residence halls on campus, one of which has had some severe conduct issues over the semester, and he has been on top of managing concerns, room changes, emergency moves, and keeping the RAs for those buildings on track. He does it all with a great, solutions-focused, student-centered, attitude.

The culture Jenn has nurtured makes us all feel safe, cared for, and truly seen.  That is the magic of TRIO SSC, and the most important reason students in our program excel and persevere!

Kara dealt with a delicate situation involving a student.  She was able to calm the student, answer questions, and leaves the conversation on a positive note.

Kayla works mainly with transfer students but has started working with returning students as well in the past few months. Her dedication to getting students the information and support they need is admirable. Every student she talks with has the information they need and precise next steps. She has taken on more leadership roles within Admission to support her colleagues and continues to put her best foot forward every day. The Admission Office is incredibly lucky to have Kayla!

Kendra has been such a strong and reliable leader through this time of transition. She stepped up to provide clear, strategic, and thoughtful leadership during a time of uncertainty and crisis. I am in awe of the way she has continued to show up for her colleagues, the students, and this campus. Grateful for her leadership and mentorship.

La Mera Mera - there are not enough words to describe the impact Kendra made at FLC.  Her promotion of the college, trauma informed approach, vision for healthier communities, and support for marginalized communities teaches us all how to show up!   Gracias.

I'm thankful for Kristian's efforts in making sure that all our students had caps and gowns for Commencement. Thanks to his planning, students who wanted to participate could even if they weren't prepared. Thanks for taking care of our students, Kristian!

Larenz has done a phenomenal job in the NAC and on the Belonging Team this year. He has maintained creativity and innovation while onboarding two new professional staff and managing important programs like Powwow, Hozhoni Ambassadors, NS2S Peer Mentors, and more. I look up to Larenz as a friend and colleague and am so proud of his work this semester.

MaRiah has taken good care of the spaces she’s responsible for, always has a friendly demeanor with staff and students and demonstrates genuine care for those she works with. TRIO SSC is grateful to see MaRiah when she comes by every day!

Roland has gone above and beyond learning the systems at FLC in his short time back. He offers exceptional customer service and always goes above and beyond what is asked of him (and with a great attitude). Truly a great addition to our team in the Skyhawk Station!

During Roland's brief time on the team, he has proven to be an immensely valuable team player. When his team members need help, he gladly steps in to take over their appointments, tackle the hard phone calls with students, and more. He does so without complaint and with genuine care toward our students. So lucky to have ya, Roland!

Shawna is an integral part of not only HR, but campus as a whole. She brings such positive energy and always has a smile on her face. Always willing to help. She has done a superb job with organizing the first ever campus-wide leadership training this academic year, which has been a huge success. She is always thinking of ways to make FLC the best place to be. Grateful for her commitment and warm spirit.

Steve is always willing to go above and beyond to support students registered with the Accessible Resource Center inside and outside of the classroom.  His willingness to delve deeper to explore software for faculty interested in improving the accessibility of their course content speaks to Steve's commitment to improving digital accessibility on campus.  Thanks Steve

Susan has done such a great job building a strong and confident team, and outstanding customer service.

Tanya has continued to progress in her role leading all campus visits. She coordinates incredible open houses which make prospective students excited about the idea of attending FLC. Experiential opportunities have recently been added to Open Houses which has only increased student excitement. Tanya's enthusiasm and team support is contagious and exciting to see each and every day!
