After a successful two-year run that included leading a strategic plan process for FLC Athletics, successful fundraising efforts, and collaboration on key construction projects, the FLC Board of Trustees extended Travis Whipple’s contract through 2028.

This summer, community members in Shonto, Ariz., participated in a three-day workshop to learn how photovoltaic systems work. The training was part of a broader effort to electrify the Navajo Nation community.

Fort Lewis College will play a leading role in the workforce development programming for Elevate Quantum Tech Hub, which secured $127 million in federal and state funding to develop workforce and technologies for the rapidly growing quantum industry in Colorado, New Mexico, and Wyoming.

This year, five local businesses benefited from free marketing services through the program, which provides students and recent FLC grads with paid hands-on experiential learning.

Bodine has worked for the college for 27 years, most recently serving as the interim director of IT Services. 

This year, 20 FLC students participated in All Our Kin Collective Summer Institute, a two-week program promoting excitement and love for Native Languages. Guided by instructors and tribal elders, students used songs, animated videos, and cultural activities to learn (and teach) Diné, Ute, and Lakota.
