Head football coach John L. Smith resigns; Rifilato takes the reins

John L. Smith has resigned as head football coach from Fort Lewis College, announced today by Director of Athletics Gary Hunter.  Defensive coordinator Ed Rifilato has been promoted to head coach. Smith has accepted the head coaching position at Kentucky State University (NCAA Division II) in Frankfort, Kentucky.

The goal of the day’s activities are not immediately apparent to an outside observer, but one woman is clearly in charge. Durango is a long way to have come from Africa. But for Farai Taziwa, it's not nearly as far as his whole world has come. Taziwa, a Zimbabwe native, has accumulated many achievements during his time at Fort Lewis College, from earning his bachelor's degree in Engineering in just three and a half years, to landing his first job during his last semester.
