Update on vaccine eligibility for students

Dear Skyhawks,

San Juan Basin Public Health announced vaccine eligibility will open tomorrow, Friday, March 19, for individuals within the Colorado COVID-19 Vaccine 1B.4 Phase. This includes individuals 16-49 with one high-risk condition, frontline essential workers in food/restaurant services, and student-facing higher education staff, including student-facing student employees. The 1B.4 phase is the last phase of special eligibility requirements; Colorado Governor Polis expects that by the end of April, vaccines will be made available to all individuals.

As scientists and medical experts have continually stated, when you become eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine, get it. Getting the vaccine will keep you, your friends, and your family safe. We have protected each other throughout the pandemic by following our mitigation protocols and the vaccine is now one of those critical pillars that will help us end this crisis.

We are collaborating with Axis Health System to host two vaccination clinics at Fort Lewis College in April. More details to come—we will share more information via email.

Until the majority of our community is vaccinated, please continue to practice distancing, mask-wearing, limiting social interactions, and use the FLC App to track symptoms and get a daily health pass. We still need to do our part to keep each other safe.

Stay safe, Skyhawks!
